Original jazzy blues and urban swing tunes to get your toes a-tappin’ and your heart strings a-pullin’.
Miss Jones is an autistic, kinkyqueer singer/songwriter based in nipaluna/Hobart, lutruwita/Tasmania.
She feels everything strongly, including the chronic pain she lives with daily.
But music is a balm for the soul and blues is what makes Miss Jones’ heart sing, and what she does best.
As someone with dynamic disabilities, Miss Jones might be a little quiet on the promotion and touring fronts, but you can catch her performing live and singing her heart out regularly around the south of lutruwita/Tassie.
She has decades of performing experience, a big voice, her own unique jazzy blues guitar sound, and a big catalogue of original tunes. She has played support for touring acts like Mia Dyson, Ash Grunwald and Alex Lloyd, and local legends The Sheyana Band and Ange Boxall.
Heavily influenced by early jazz, blues and R&B let Miss Jones take you on an emotive ride conveyed in original jazzy blues and urban swing styles.
As an established artist in the local blues scene, look her up when you’re next down south.
Here’s some of the more mundane:
Miss Jones learnt guitar from her dad, inherited singing from both parents, learnt piano as a kid and clarinet during high school. She sung in choirs, played in school ensembles and concert bands, played with jazz bands, solo and with her own band the Bare Bones.
Her debut EP Naomi Jones and the Bare Bones is currently available on Bandcamp and CDBaby.
Check out her Facebook for upcoming gigs and Bandcamp pages for more tunes and follow her on Instagram, Google+, Reverbnation, Soundcloud, and LinkedIn.
